Brother Curtis L. Burroughs

Immediate Past President

Brother Curtis Burroughs is a native of Charleston, MS. He graduated from Jackson State University with a degree in Business Management in 1996. In 2021, Brother Burroughs earned a Masters Degree in Leadership from Belhaven University.

He is currently employed as a Provider Advocate Account Manager with UnitedHealthcare. Brother Burroughs was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Rho X Lambda Chapter on November 2, 2013. He has served as Chapter Dean of Membership, Vice President, President, and currently serves as the Immediate Past President. He is currently the Chief Dean of Membership for Area Three of the Mississippi Alpha Network. 

Brother Burroughs is married to LaTesha who is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Rho Lambda Omega Chapter. They are the parents of three adult children and they have three grandchildren.

Brother Jonathan W. Townes

President & Secretary

Jonathan Townes, is a native of Greenville, MS and currently resides in Jackson, MS. He is a 2012 graduate of Jackson State University as well as 2014 graduate of Mississippi College. He currently works at Hinds Community College as the Dean of Technology for Career and Technical Education.

Prior to this role, he served as the STEM Program Director and Assistant Director of Sponsored Programs. In these roles, he served as PI/Co-PI for NSF HBCU-UP Targeted Infusion Project, Implementation Project, ITEST, and LSAMP. In addition, he has served as the project director for a Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP) at the college and Site Coordinator for the MS NASA Space Grant consortium.

He has provided mentorship to STEM majoring students that has led to degree obtainment and job placement. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated and the 100 Black Men of Jackson. His recent professional involvements include being recognized as a Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society Distinguished College Administrator, a 2021 Mississippi Community College Leadership Academy Fellow, and a Higher Education Leadership Institute (HELF) Fellow.

Brother Judge Winston L. Kidd

Recording Secretary

Brother Winston L. Kidd received his Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors, from The University of Mississippi and his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law. After practicing law in Jackson, Brother Kidd was appointed Circuit Judge for the 7th Circuit District in Hinds County by Governor Ronnie Musgrove in October 2001. Judge Kidd has subsequently been elected to his position every four years. Judge Kidd is married to Dr. Adriane Dorsey-Kidd, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and they are the parents of Winston Jamal and Jacob Jabari.

Brother Perry K. Paige, Jr.

Brother Perry K. Paige, Jr. received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Southern Mississippi.  He is currently employed as a licensed sales agent with Paige Insurance Agency.
 
Brother Paige is also a licensed funeral director at Lakeover Memorial Funeral Home and a United States Army Reserve Veteran.  He resides in Clinton, MS, and is married with three children.

Brother Robert Johnson

Brother Robert Johnson is a native of Canton, MS, and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University in Accounting in 1988. He continued his education there and received a master of Business Administration degree in 1991.

Brother Johnson was initiated into the Mu Pi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated (Brookhaven, MS) on April 26, 1997. He became a charter member of the Rho Xi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated on October 7, 2004, in Canton, Mississippi. He has been with Rho Xi Lambda since its chartering date.

He is currently employed with the Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration as Assistant Director of Financial Reporting. Robert is also active with the Jackson State University National Alumni Association (Madison County Chapter). Also, he holds membership in the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers (NASACT) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

Brother Corky F. Wicks

Director of Education Activities

Brother Corky Wicks received his degree in Computer Science from Jackson State University in 1989. After graduation, he began full-time employment with Eastman Kodak until 1995. After that, he worked with CACI as a project manager until he returned to graduate school in the summer of 1995 at the University of Memphis.

At the University of Memphis, Corky received his Master of Business Administration and graduated with honors in 1997. Upon graduation, he furthered his career with several technology firms and is currently employed by C-Spire as a Test Automation Analyst.

Corky is working towards his Ph.D. and volunteers with various organizations. He recently initiated the Mississippi Be Healthy initiative with his friends to promote fitness, healthy food preparation, farming, and technology in the Jackson Public School District.

Corky pledged at the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha (Jackson State University) on November 14, 1985.
